ZX Flux x Sneaker Freaker
On July 9 in Berlin, Adidas Originals unveiled the ZX Flux, the latest addition to its ZX series inspired by the iconic ’80s running shoe style.
According to adidas.com, ZX Flux features a fabric and synthetic leather upper with a colorful allover graphic print, TPU 3-Stripes, and a TPU heel cage. The trainers are made of a single piece of textile with various graphic prints. They look totally different depending on the material.
ZX Flux x David Beckham
The newly unveiled ZX Flux was introduced with limited collaborative styles from the likes of Boys Noize, David Beckham, Jenah Yamamoto, Sneaker Freaker, and Chimperator Productions. These models are especially exciting because they’re not just promotional moves: Adidas Originals is also relaunching mi adidas, a sneaker customization app.
mi adidas for ZX Flux, #miZXFLUX App will launch on this Friday, August 22nd, 2014.
I tried the app out, and it’s quite easy and simple. You choose a photo on your phone or tablet, view, and swipe from various angles; the app will show you a 360-degree mock-up of your sneakers. My favorite result was when I tried it with Hodori(호돌이), the mascot of the Seoul 1988 Summer Olympic Games.
It’s an exciting experience to be able to customize your kicks. People want more extraordinary experiences in their lives, and in my opinion, this is an almost perfect way to do that.
